Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Siemens Energy have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) to strengthen their cooperation on floating offshore wind and wind power industry development.

Under the MOC, METI and Siemens Energy have agreed to cooperate on the realization of floating offshore wind projects in Japan, as well as on supply chain development and human resource development aimed at strengthening the wind power industrial base.

Pursuant to the agreement, Siemens Energy announced that it will establish in Hokkaido its first strategic operations and maintenance (O&M) hub in Asia to help strengthen the resilience of the wind power supply chain.
