Following its controlling council meeting in Cape Town, South Africa, last month, the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) has named Natalia Margioli as president.
Succeeding outgoing president Punit Oza, Margioli is the first woman and the first Greek member to take on the role of president of ICS. Before assuming office, Margioli held the position of vice president from 2024. She brings decades of experience in shipping and maritime education to the role, currently serving as managing director of Hellenic Management Centre.
ICS also elected Jeffrey Blum as its latest vice president at the controlling council meeting. He will serve a two-year term, supporting Margioli in her role as president.
Margioli said: “I would like to sincerely thank Punit for his leadership and valuable contribution to the Institute over the past two years, and for the strong foundations on which we can continue to build.
