Mobilization for Stone Harbor's upcoming beach replenishment is anticipated to begin Monday, November 2nd, through Friday, November 6th.

The Borough of Stone Harbor said that the construction vehicles will travel toward the 122nd Street beach parking lot that week and possibly into the following week. This work will be undertaken ahead of an approximately $16 million federal effort to restore beaches and strengthen the borough's defenses against coastal storms.

Under the project, Norfolk Dredging Company will place approximately 538,867 cubic yards of sand in two areas – from 98th to 114th Streets and from 120th to the terminal groin.

Beachfill operations will begin November 6th and are projected to be complete by November 28th.
