Ryder System reported stronger third-quarter earnings and raised its full-year 2026 profit outlook, supported by improving freight market conditions, higher contractual revenue and continued execution of its strategic initiatives.
The US-based logistics and transportation company generated total revenue of $3.43 billion in the third quarter, an increase of 8% from $3.17 billion a year earlier. Operating revenue, which excludes certain fuel and subcontracted transportation revenue, rose 6% to $2.76 billion.
Net earnings increased to $162 million from $138 million, while diluted earnings per share from continuing operations climbed 25% to $4.16. Comparable earnings per share, a non-GAAP measure, rose 21% to $4.33.
The company attributed its performance to growth in contractual businesses, improved used vehicle sales and stronger rental operations.
