On October 29 Wuhan opened two more sections of its metro network. The second phase of Line 12 between Gangduhuayuan and Moshuihu Park via the north and west of the city joins the two ends of Phase 1 opened on May 1 2026, completing the world’s longest metro ring. Line 21 has been extended from Houhu Boulevard to meet the loop at Zhongyi Rd.

Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corp has awarded Afcons Infrastructure Ltd a RS13.83bn contract to design and build a 6.52 km underground section of Lucknow Metro Phase 1B. The project scope includes seven stations, associated civil and architectural works, utility systems, fire safety infrastructure and the connection between the underground and elevated sections of the future line.

Budapest city council approved on October 30 the expansion of transport authority BKK’s role to cover the wider metropolitan region from January 1 2027. BKK will become responsible for organising suburban railway and bus services terminating in the capital, including the HÉV suburban railway network. The government and the city are each expected to contribute at least HF170bn towards the financing of transport services in 2027.
