Welspun Corp has approved a US$115 million expansion at its Arkansas pipe plant and a Jordan manufacturing and coating project costing up to US$125 million with Perma-Pipe. The investments strengthen its overseas production footprint as large pipeline orders provide longer-term demand visibility.
The Welspun Corp expansion programme includes an additional helical submerged arc welded, or HSAW, pipe facility at Little Rock, Arkansas.
The US project will add 225,000 tonnes of annual capacity to the existing 350,000 tonnes, taking the total to 575,000 tonnes. The company expects the facility to become operational in March 2028 and plans to finance the investment through internal accruals.
The board approved the investment on 29 October, citing its orderbook and demand visibility for US oil and gas pipeline projects.
