According to the regulatory agency, the future contract will last 25 years and provides for investments estimated at R$1.12 billion to modernize and expand the terminal’s operational infrastructure.
Among the obligations foreseen for the future lessee is the construction of a new warehouse with a minimum capacity of 39 thousand tons, in addition to the expansion of two existing warehouses in the port complex.
The project is part of the strategy to strengthen the logistics infrastructure in the Northeast and seeks to expand the capacity to move mineral cargo in Ceará, especially products used by the industrial and civil construction chains.
Antaq informed that, even after the public hearing, it will still be possible to forward suggestions and contributions regarding the technical and legal drafts made available for consultation.
Manifestations can be sent until 11:59 pm next Monday (11), exclusively through the electronic form available in the ongoing public hearings area on the regulatory agency’s portal.
The agency also explained that additional documents, such as maps, plans and digital images, can be sent by email to support the technical analysis of the project.
The sector’s expectation is that the lease will contribute to increasing the logistical competitiveness of the Port of Fortaleza and attracting new private investments into the region’s port infrastructure.
