The sector, considered the basis for various economic activities, has been facing challenges related to production costs, tax burden and international competition.

According to union and business leaders present at the event, recent changes in federal legislation have already begun to generate positive impacts for the chemical industry. However, new actions are still considered fundamental to guarantee sustainable growth and maintenance of jobs.

Among the main demands are improvements in natural gas pricing policy, reduction of operating costs and expansion of incentives aimed at national production.

The expectation is that the joint mobilization between businesspeople, workers and governments will contribute to strengthening a segment considered essential for Brazilian economic development.
