Cubatão leads national debate on reindustrialization during Industry Week

The opening of Industry Week in Cubatão reinforced the importance of dialogue between the productive sector, civil society and public authorities to face the challenges of Brazilian industry. The event brought together businesspeople, trade unionists, authorities and experts to discuss topics related to competitiveness, job creation, sustainability and economic development.
During the meeting, Fabrício Lopes, Secretary of Industry, Port, Employment and Entrepreneurship of the city of Cubatão, highlighted the need to expand the country’s reindustrialization policies. Cubatão was highlighted as one of the main examples of Brazilian industrial strength, bringing together activities linked to industry, logistics, port and tourism in the same region.

According to the organizers, the city has already represented around 3% of the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and continues to be one of the most important industrial hubs in the country. Currently, more than 56% of the municipal GDP comes from industrial activity.
The Industry Week program includes technical forums, an employability fair, debates on sustainable development and the relaunch of the Cubatão Economic Development Council, which aims to bring together different sectors to build proposals aimed at strengthening the regional economy.
Industry Week in Cubatão brought together representatives from the productive sector, workers and public authorities to discuss the resumption of Brazilian industrial competitiveness and the city’s strategic role in national development.
Another highlight of the event was the appreciation of industry workers, considered fundamental to the functioning of the Brazilian production chain.
