According to the company, the recognition should bring direct impacts to the entire logistics chain served by Portocel, with greater agility in the release of cargo, reduction of bureaucratic procedures and lower incidence of physical interventions by supervisory bodies.

In practice, certification tends to offer more operational predictabilityreducing indirect costs related to delays, retentions and stoppages of cargo, a factor considered strategic for exporters, importers, shipowners and logistics operators.

The program OAS is adopted internationally and follows the guidelines of World Customs Organizationcombining supply chain security with foreign trade facilitation. In Brazil, the model was recently modernized by the Federal Revenue Service, which expanded certification levels and benefits for recognized companies.

Among the main benefits expected for certified operators are:

  • prioritization in customs analysis;
  • reduction of physical inspections;
  • greater speed in clearance;
  • differentiated treatment in import and export processes;
  • increased reliability with international partners.

For the port and cellulose sector, a segment in which Portocel has a strong presence, the certification reinforces the company’s position as a strategic link in global supply chains, especially in large-scale export-oriented operations.

The company’s assessment is that the seal represents formal recognition of its ability to meet global supply chains with high standards of governance, security and operational efficiencyan aspect increasingly valued by the international market.

The movement also occurs at a time of modernization of the Brazilian OAS program, with new standards published by the Federal Revenue in 2026 to strengthen trade facilitation and expand the country’s logistical competitiveness.
