Located approximately 175 kilometers from Manausthe project is located in an area considered strategic for the integration between Amazon waterways and Brazilian agribusiness export flows.
According to the general director of Super Terminais, Marcello Di Gregoriothe new venture should represent a leap forward in national logistics.
“Arco Norte has been consolidating itself as one of Brazil’s main export routes, with emphasis on waterway transport, a model that reduces environmental impacts and boosts sustainable development”, stated the executive.
The floating pier will be incorporated into a port area of 300 thousand square meters and was designed to increase the flow capacity of Brazilian agricultural production. Initially developed for container operations, the system was adapted to operate in the transshipment of solid bulk in view of the growing demand for logistics infrastructure in the Northern corridor.
In addition to the operational gain, the investment should also boost the regional economy. According to the company, Super Porto Verde is expected to generate around 130 direct jobs and another 250 indirect jobs, strengthening Itacoatiara’s economic activity and expanding Amazonas’ participation in the national agricultural commodity logistics chain.
The structure will be 240 meters long and 18 meters wide, equipped with three electric cranes The mustard book model 895E, considered the largest in the world in its category and the first in operation in the southern hemisphere.
The equipment will have an operational capacity of up to 2,100 tons per hour.
The system will also allow the simultaneous docking of a Panamax vessel of up to 50 thousand tons and six barges, with operation expected to take up to 36 hours, reducing logistical bottlenecks and increasing operational predictability for trading companies and agribusiness operators.
The company also highlighted that the project reinforces its expansion strategy in line with the sustainability agenda, investing in waterways as an alternative with lower carbon emissions for large-scale cargo transport.
“We are ready to deliver a technological, sustainable and efficient operation that will expand the alternatives for the flow of Brazilian agricultural production”, added Marcello Di Gregorio.
