MRS Logística and DP World announced a partnership to bring agribusiness production from the Central-West region to the Port of Santos and boost the export of beans, sesame, sugar and cotton. The model integrates road, rail and port terminal transport, with the aim of reducing congestion, increasing scale and making logistics more predictable.

In the adopted model, the commodities Agricultural products are transported by road to terminals in the cities of Suzano, Jundiaí and Paulínia, where they undergo containerization. From there, they continue by rail to the DP World terminal in Santos, which reduces the circulation of trucks when accessing the port.

The initiative responds to the growing demand from producers for alternatives to direct road transport to the port, especially given the bottlenecks in access and reception capacity in Santos, which impact export deadlines and costs.

Marco Dornelas, Commercial Accounts Manager at MRS Logística, stated that some of the differences and benefits of the logistics solution are the possibility of storage at partner terminals, the guarantee of receipt by port terminals, cost competitiveness, the greater scale for cargo flow (up to 84 TEUs per trip) and the sustainability of the operation.

“It is a complete solution, from field to ship, which reinforces the strategic role of the railway in the development of national agribusiness and meets the urgent need for the flow of commodities to the ports”, points out the Commercial Accounts manager.
