Port of Leixões announces billion-dollar investment targeting Brazil

The Portuguese port announced a strategic plan for 1 billion euros in investments over the next 10 yearsfocusing on expanding container infrastructure.
The project foresees the expansion of the current capacity of 700 thousand for 1.4 million TEUspractically doubling the movement.
According to the executive, the measure is directly linked to the potential for growth in trade relations between Brazil, Mercosur and the European Union.
Sectors such as textiles, plastics and manufactured goods should lead this new phase of exports.
The Portuguese presence at Intermodal 2026 reinforces the importance of Brazil as a strategic commercial partner.
