The importance of having the right representative in the Federal Senate

Brazilian ports are no longer just logistical structures. Today, they represent economic competitiveness, industrial development, job creation, international integration and strategic security for Brazil.
In this scenario, the ports of Porto de Santos and Porto de São Sebastião play a fundamental role in the country’s growth. These are assets that move billions, connect production chains and directly influence the performance of industry, agribusiness, logistics and Brazilian foreign trade.

Therefore, it is increasingly important that the Federal Senate has representatives who know, in practice, the complexity of the port sector.
Understanding infrastructure, dredging, concessions, logistics, urban mobility, railway integration, regulation, environment and port expansion cannot be just technical discourse. It requires experience, dialogue with the production sector and a real understanding of the impacts that political decisions have on the operation of ports and the national economy.
Furthermore, a senator with in-depth knowledge of the port sector can be the decisive point in institutional coordination with the National Waterway Transport Agency and the Federal Court of Auditors, contributing to unlocking processes that often remain in progress for years and that are fundamental for the development of Brazil.
Expansion projects, contractual renewals, new leases, investments in infrastructure and logistical modernization directly depend on legal security, institutional alignment and capacity for political dialogue. When these agendas advance, it is not just the port that grows: the country’s competitiveness, job creation and Brazil’s ability to compete in global markets grow.
Having a senator aligned with port agendas means strengthening investments, accelerating structuring projects, defending Brazilian competitiveness and ensuring that strategic regions, such as Baixada Santista and the North Coast, have an active voice in major national decisions.
Brazil needs to transform its ports into a State priority. And this starts with political representation that is prepared, technical and connected to the reality of the sector.
The future of the Brazilian economy depends on ports. And ports need to be represented by those who truly understand their importance.
