The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has simplified foreign exchange reporting rules for small service exporters and importers, reducing paperwork for transactions worth Rs. 10 lakh, an official press release stated. Under the revised rules, individual service exporters will no longer need to submit a separate Export Declaration Form once payment details are shared with their respective banks. Other service exporters will be exempt from the form for payments received up to Rs. 10 lakh. For service imports, the banks will need to report transactions in the Import Data Processing and Monitoring System only when the importer is not an individual and the invoice value exceeds `10 lakh. The changes are likely to make smaller cross-border service transactions easier to process.
