Fernando Corrêa do Santos highlights logistics integration as a challenge to sustain growth in Brazilian foreign trade

SANTOS (SP) – The need for integrated planning to meet the growth of Brazilian exports was one of the main themes presented by Fernando Corrêa do Santos, representative of Infra SA, during the first stage of ENIP 2026, held at the Port of Santos.

In his presentation, the expert highlighted that Brazil is experiencing a decisive moment for logistics infrastructure. According to him, the increase in agricultural, industrial and mineral production requires a more efficient transport network, capable of connecting producing regions to ports in a safe, sustainable and competitive way.

Fernando highlighted that Infra SA has played a fundamental role in preparing technical studies and modeling for structuring projects in different regions of the country. Among the main challenges highlighted are the expansion of railway capacity, the modernization of road access and the integration of different modes of transport.

“The growth in cargo movement requires planning. We need to look at the next 20 or 30 years and prepare the necessary infrastructure to meet this demand”, he highlighted during the panel.

The executive also drew attention to the importance of logistics corridors that connect the Center-West to Brazilian ports, especially given the increase in grain and protein exports. According to him, the efficiency of these corridors will be decisive for Brazil to expand its participation in international trade.

Another topic discussed was the need to reduce logistics costs. Currently, the so-called “Brazil Cost” continues to be one of the main obstacles to national competitiveness. Investments in infrastructure, digitalization of processes and integration between different modes can contribute to reducing historical bottlenecks that directly impact the production chain.

When analyzing the scenario of the Port of Santos, Fernando highlighted the strategic role of the port complex for the country’s economic development. Responsible for almost a third of the Brazilian trade balance, the port requires continuous investment in land accessibility, operational capacity and logistical connectivity.

The participation of the Infra SA representative reinforced one of the main messages of ENIP 2026: the future of Brazilian logistics depends on planning, integration and structuring investments capable of keeping up with the growth rate of the national economy.
