Created in 2017, the Routescanner platform was developed to increase transparency and efficiency in container transport. According to the Port Authority of Rotterdam, the transfer represents a natural step in the evolution of the project. The objective is to allow the platform to reach new markets and expand its development capacity through the technological experience of Royal Dirkzwager, recognized for its solutions aimed at managing maritime information.

The integration between Routescanner and the Ship2Port platform is highlighted as one of the main opportunities of the operation. While Ship2Port provides real-time information on ship movements, port calls and terminal operational planning, Routescanner complements the process with data related to land transport and logistics optimization.

Combined, the two platforms should offer a complete view of the supply chain, from the vessel’s arrival at the port to the transport of cargo to its final destination inland. The expectation is of significant gains in operational predictability, logistical efficiency and reduction of environmental impacts.

To the financial director of the Port Authority of Rotterdam, Vivienne de Leeuwthe platform plays an important role in promoting transparency and logistical sustainability.

“We are sure that Routescanner is in good hands at Royal Dirkzwager for its future development”stated the executive.

Already the CEO of Royal Dirkzwager, Joan Blaashighlighted the potential of technological integration.

“From the coast to the interior, we can predict, plan and optimize more effectively”he highlighted.

Despite the change in management, the platform’s operations will continue to be based in Rotterdam. Part of the current team will be incorporated into Royal Dirkzwager, ensuring continuity of services and the development of new functionalities aimed at the global logistics and transport market.

The initiative reinforces the position of the Port of Rotterdam as one of the main global references in port innovation, digitalization and sustainability, areas that are increasingly strategic for the competitiveness of international trade.
