The decision was formalized through a public note signed by unions representing different port categories, who chose not to participate in the 24-hour strike announced by the dockers.

According to the document, the position was taken after meetings held in the context of discussions on Bill No. 733/2025, which proposes updating the legal framework for the Brazilian port sector.

The entities state that, in the joint assessment, the text under debate preserves workers’ rights, ensures legal security and contributes to stability in labor relations within the port environment.

The demonstration also highlights the importance of institutional dialogue as the main tool for defending the interests of the category. According to the unions, collective bargaining and responsible action with the competent authorities are the most appropriate paths at this time.

Furthermore, the entities reinforce that they continue to closely monitor the progress of the project in the National Congress and remain mobilized to act, if they consider it necessary, in the face of possible changes to the text.

The decision highlights a scenario of division between representatives of the port sector, with some entities defending mobilization and others betting on negotiation as a strategy to face the challenges proposed by the new regulatory framework.
