Tiplam reaches record and moves 14.3 million tons in 2025

O Luiz Antônio Mesquita Integrator Terminal (Tiplam), operated by VLI Logisticsrecorded the largest movement in its history in 2025, with 14.3 million useful tons (MTU). The volume represents a growth of 6% compared to the previous year and reinforces the importance of the terminal in the national logistics chain.

Located in Baixada Santista, Tiplam is part of the company’s Southeast Corridor, connecting the Center-West to the state of São Paulo through the Central-Atlantic Railway (FCA). The terminal plays a strategic role in the flow of commodities such as corn, soybeans, bran and sugar, in addition to the import of fertilizers.

According to the company, the predominance of rail transport to the terminal contributes significantly to the sustainability of operations. The railway mode emits around 15% of CO2 per ton transported compared to road transport, in addition to reducing the flow of trucks in the port region. Each wagon carries the equivalent of the load of three trucks, relieving traffic around the train. Port of Santos.

The record performance was also driven by investments made in the first half of 2025. Among the improvements, the dredging of the terminal stands out, which increased the operational draft from 13.35 meters to 14.10 meters, increasing the ships’ cargo capacity by around 10%.

This operational advance was decisive for the terminal to reach, in August, the largest shipment volume in its history, with 83 thousand tons of sugar destined for the Middle East.

Another highlight occurred in September, when Tiplam recorded the largest monthly landing of fertilizers, with 285 thousand tons coming from North America, the Middle East and China. The cargoes were mainly destined for rural producers in the states of Goiás, Minas Gerais and Mato Grosso.

For VLI, the results reflect a combination of investments in infrastructure, operational efficiency and logistics integration, consolidating Tiplam as one of the main bulk movement hubs in the country.
